Obituary of HORNUNG – Giles

March 5, 1966 – November 19, 2010 Giles Hornung of Calgary passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010 Calgary at the age of 44 years. Giles was born on March 5, 1966 in Regina, SK to Paul and Eva Hornung. He came to Calgary twenty-two years ago where he worked as a Plumber; he then fell into bartending, eventually became Manager at Studio 82 and thereafter worked at Dixons. Giles started plumbing again about seven years ago after the joy of his life, Jordan, was born. The last few years he had been working at Reggin Technical first as a plumber and then as a Plumbing Estimator. During this time Giles was married to the love of his life, Cindy. He also loved sports, hockey, football, and golf. Last October, Cindy and Giles went on vacation to Mexico and both of them had a great time there – if he could have had one more vacation he would have loved to have gone back with Cindy. Besides his loving wife Cindy, Giles is survived by his daughter Jordan (Jordan’s mother Erin), of Calgary; his mother Eva Hornung of Regina, SK; sisters, Laurel (Ray) Charles of Wawota, SK; Joan (Ken) Myers and Annette (Leo) Giroux of Regina, SK; mother-in-law Mary Huzio and sister-in-law Sheila (Craig) Roberts of Parksville, BC; twelve nieces and nephews; five grandnieces and nephews; his extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his father Paul in 2009.
