During the 70’s I sat across from Joe many, many times and enjoyed the fantastic scenery on the Laggan Sub with him. Leaving Lake Louise eastbound at 0530 on an early summer morning, down through Eldon (maybe going a little bit too fast) into Castle Mountian, unbelievable beautiful scenery. It must have been Joe’s ritual, he always brought out the Stanley thermos starting up the hill to Stephen and he always offered me some tea. I enjoyed my times with him.
