Obituary of CHRISTIANSEN – Shawna Louise
March 15, 1958 – November 4, 2010
Shawna Louise Christiansen (nee McCallum), beloved wife of Greg Christiansen of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the age of 52 years.
Shawna was born in Edmonton, AB on March 15, 1958. She lived in Kelowna from 1979 to 1998 and Aldergrove, BC from 1998 to 2000, before coming back to Alberta, where she has resided in Calgary from 2000 until the present. In her youth, Shawna was affiliated with the United Church.
In 2001 Shawna completed one of her life’s greatest achievement when she graduated from college for Braile Teaching and went on to become a teacher’s aide and Braile teacher. Shawna and Greg were married on October 6, 2007. They then spent their honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii, which became one of their favourite vacation spots, returning to Maui in June 2010.
Shawna volunteered her time with many various charitable golf tournaments. She loved dogs especially her poodle Frankie, and also loved going to the movies, BBQ’s, camping, fly fishing and indulging in chocolate. Shawna always had a passion for music, her favourite song being “Five Days in May” by Blue Rodeo, which was Shawna and Greg’s wedding song.
Besides her loving husband Greg, Shawna is also survived by her mother Marilynn McCallum; brothers, Lee and Scott McCallum, all of Calgary; and sister Tracy Bell of Beiseker. Shawna was predeceased by her father Lenard McCallum.
A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
