Condolences
I just learned of Bob’s passing and want pass my condolences on to his family.
I first met Bob in 1983 when I was 17 and started working at Ridley’s Cycle. I fondly remember “Bob’s warehouse “, where 29 years later being with Ridley’s, I have not seen anyone organize and stand guard over our inventory of bikes as Bob would. After Bob no longer worked at Ridley’s, he would drop by from time to time to get a part for a friend or neighbours bike he was fixing. I always enjoyed our chats and reminicing about the past.
Bob you are and will be missed by us.
Sincerely,
Ron
I worked with Bob for many years at Ridley’s Cycle when I was only a teenager. To hear of his passing is truly sad news. Later on I would often run into him in Kensington and he would make me laugh, he was a good a man with a kind heart. Although I have not seen him for many years, I often thought of him, and all of the crew from Ridley’s Cycle. He will be missed!
My best to his family.

I am sorry to hear of Bob’s passing, and offer my condolences for your bereavement.
I worked with Bob at Ridley’s Cycle and he later worked for me as a bicycle mechanic when I took over the business. I was always very fond of Bob, as were all of us at the shop. He was a really good human being, and later I always enjoyed seeing him around town. Last time was earlier this year, and he seemed pretty much his usual amiable self. I’ll miss running into him and catching up on the news.
Kind regards,
Alex
We are sorry to hear from an acquantance on the passing of our dear industry friend Bob. Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel.
Bob was one of my employees at Ridley’s Cycle between 1974 and 1980. As a matter of fact, he was not only our mechanic, he was our well trusted “Security Guard”. Always loved to hear his report after the weekend. He was well appreciated by us and by all Calgary bicycle dealers. My wife and I moved to Vancouver Island and when we visit Calgary on many occasions, we often had the pleasure of running in to him at different bike shops. We will miss his smiling face.
Sincerely,
Casey and Faye Botman
