Obituary of BRUCE – Betty Annabel
September 28, 1918 – October 25, 2010
Betty passed away on October 25, 2010 at the Chinook Hospice at the age of 92.
Betty was born in Winnipeg, but as a child the family moved to Regina. During the Second World War, Betty had an opportunity to work in Washington, D.C. for the Australian War Supplies Commission, where she met Esson. They married in the spring of 1946, taking up residence in Montreal. Betty became involved with many charities and was a member of the Mount Royal United Church Choir and women’s activities for many years. For retirement Betty and Esson moved to Oakville, Ontario in 1982 and enjoyed thirteen pleasant years among old friends from Washington and Montreal days. In 1995 they moved to Calgary to be near Susan and Joe.
Betty is survived by her loving daughter Susan (Joe) Hunter and nephew Larry (Linda) Bruce.
Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Esson, and infant son David Esson Bruce.
Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. You may forward condolences through .
