I have just learned of the passing of Fr. Kieth. I was an alter sever at St. Marks for him in the 1980’s in Calgary. He had a huge impact on my youth. He ministered to my friends and family, all of the Sacraments throughout the years. I have nothing but the fondest of memories of him. The way he could put you at ease and make you laugh has stuck with me for many years. I only hope that I can be half the man he was. I will pray for him and his family.

I’m so sorry to hear of Fr. Keith’s passing – he married me and baptized my daughter while at St. Pat’s in Calgary. He was a kind, soft spoken man and my thoughts & prayers go out to his family and friends at this sad time for them. He’s found his healing happiness in God’s arms now and there is much healing for us here to know that he’s in a far better place … God’s blessed him and will hold him closer than ever now.

Fr. Keith married us 30 years ago this past September. We met Fr. Keith when we were going through the pre-marriage course that St. Marks offers. I called him Fr. Elton because to me he looked like Elton John (maybe it was the glasses) at the time. The similarities stopped there, of course. Our sympathies go out to the rest of the family. It is with sadness that I observe the passing of Father Keith. I knew Father Keith for many years in his capacity as school chaplin. I had the greatest regard for him. He was kind, considerate and supportive of all he came to minister to.

I met Father Keith in 1995, when I join St. Patricks church in Shawnessy in Calgary and he was so nice to me. He got me to volunteer in the church at different things, cwl,svp and other groups, so I could meet people at the church. Hhe was so kind to me and when I left calgary in 2000, he was at my going away party and said grace at my special dinner and said I would be miss. Then I came back to Calgary, and he moved to away, but I did get to see him again. He was a wonderful person and he will be missed dearly.

I was blessed to meet Father Keith in July at Holy Family Parish while in Medicine Hat. I will always remember his warm welcome and when he found out I was from a Catholic Church in Calgary, he gave me a tour of the church. Rest in peace Father Keith. Keith was the best friend you could ask for. He was like a brother to me and a true confidante. He was never one to judge. Always full of love and enthusiasm for all that life had to offer. His memory and energy will live on through me. I am deeply sorry to hear of Fr. Keith’s passing. I remember him well from High School in Pincher. He was always so full of energy, enthusiasm, and life. He became our family parish priest twice, at St. Mark’s and St. Patrick’s in Calgary. He baptised our youngest son, gave sacrements to our other two sons, and was a wonderful support to our family. We were devastated when he was take from our parish and moved to Medicine Hat. I have many fond memories of him, especially his dry sense of humor and kindness. We were so shocked to hear of Father Keith’s passing. Thankyou so much Allen for speaking with me yesterday…it helped a great deal.

Today I attended morning mass at Assumption Roman Catholic church here in Stratford, PEI. Father Phil and the 25 hearty soles that attend weekly mass joined me in a prayer for Father Keith.

I have been spending the day thinking about all of the great times we shared with Keith since we first met him at the U of L in 1971. In the late 70’s and the 1980’s, we would often find Keith at our doorstep in Lethbridge as he travelled from his different parishes to Pincher Creek! We always made sure there was a bottle of scotch in the cupboard for when he stopped in.

When we moved here in June, 2008, we stopped in Medicine Hat and had lunch with Keith. I never dreamed that it would be the last time we would be able to share all those wonderful stories of our past together.

We will miss him.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

I was saddened to learn of Father Keith’s Death. Father Keith offen used the words that Jesus spoke ” Do this in memory of me.” My memories of my friend go back over 30 years, when we were preparing for ordination to the priesthood. Over the years we kept contact and shared our journey together in the bond of priestly srevice. We visited each other frequently in the early years, I had the pleasure to welcome your parents with Keith, here in Cape Breton. Keith was a great friend and I will miss him. The greatest gift that he had was his love of the people of God, a good listner and most importantly his gift of laughter. He always enjoyed the joy of others and shared his experiences with them. He will be remembered truly a faithfull servant of the Lord. You will be in my prayers as you say farewell to your Brother. Iwill offer my mass for him on the day of his funneral and we will be together in prayer.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Fr. Keith’s passing.We knew him through St Patrick’s Parish in Calgary where each spring we would pray for him not to be transferred. He would always be happy when the time time came and went and he was still with us. We will treasure the laughs and his witty sense of humour but especially his smile, which he wore all of the time. His workload was heavy in the Parish but he bore it with great dignity and ability. Our hearts are heavy but we know that he is with our heavenly Father and again with his earthly parents. Father Keith will be missed by many. He touched so many lives including my own. Father Keith was ministering at St. Michael’s parish in Bow Island and it was through him that I found my way back to the church. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and comfortable in his presence. His wonderful smile and the twinkle in his eye is what I will remember most.

Before Father Keith’s ordination, I attended University in Lethbridge with him and his brother Allen and also worked with both of them during the summer while we were students. It was with profound sadness that I was informed of Keith’s death. It seems like yesterday in some ways we were in seminary together in Toronto and he was a joy to have as a neighbour. When I attended his inspiring ordination in Pincher Creek, one could see why his deep faith was nurtured in such a wonderful family and parish. When I remember Keith it is with a smile because he gave such joy to all who were his friends and brother priests. Fr. Keith was a true friend and a mentor for me when I was experiencing a few crosses to bear with health challenges and lost a very close friend at a young age who I sponsored into the Catholic church during Fr. Keith’s tenure at St. Patrick’s Parish in Calgary. He was always so up beat and postive and just high on life. I will always remember him as a saint on earth.
