Obituary of WADDELL – John Jacob

November 22, 1915 – October 19, 2010 John Jacob Waddell, husband of the late Doreen Waddell, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, age 94. Jack was a veteran of the Italian Campaign and the Liberation of Holland. He went on to become a founding member of The Public Service Alliance of Canada, serving as Director of Organization and as Executive Secretary of the National Component, PSAC. Upon retirement, he was honoured with a Lifetime Membership in the National Component. He was also instrumental in establishing the Vancouver branch of the Federal Superannuates National Association. Jack is survived by son James (Pamela) Waddell; daughters, June (Jeremy) Hall and Sheila (Michael) Press; grandchildren, Chris Gibson and Glenn (Amanda) Gibson, Valerie and Douglas Waddell, Kevin and Stephen Hall, Helen and David Press; and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Andrew (Iris) Waddell of Vancouver and David (Dorothy) Waddell of Sisters, Oregon. An Open House and Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held at The Manor Village at Huntington Hills (6700 Hunterview Drive N.W., Calgary) on Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Memorial Service and Interment will be held at Boundary Bay Cemetery in Tsawwassen, BC at a later date.
