Obituary of QUANTZ – Douglas Allan

January 8, 1947 – October 19, 2010 QUANTZ, Douglas Allan went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Tuesday October 19, 2010 at the age of 63 years. Doug was born January 8, 1947 in Red Deer Alberta as the eldest child of four to the late Herbert and Jean Quantz. Doug’s father was a minister and his family lived in many cities across Alberta and BC in Doug’s childhood. Doug went on to complete an engineering degree at the University of Calgary and while he was pursuing his degree, he also met and married his wife, Esther. Doug then worked for many years in the oil and gas sector until 1990 when he and his wife started their own small oil company, Concerto Resources. Doug was predeceased by his wife Esther in June and sister Karen, and is survived by his sons Steven and wife Kendall and David and fiancée Jennifer; brothers Glen and wife Susan and Don and wife Brenda and nieces and nephews. There will be a public viewing at McInnis and Holloway, Chapel of the Bells, (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday October 28, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Centre Street Church Main Campus (3900 – 2nd Street N.E.) on Friday October 29, 2010 at 10:00 am.
