I am so sorry to hear of Ernie’s passing. I know he will be dearly missed by you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Shirley, Alison and Liza: Before I lost my hearing we had some great talks and a lot of laughs and I think Ernie’s sense of humour is what I’ll miss the most. Ernie openly offered his knowledge, assistance and advice, advice that only comes with having lived a full, rich life and wisdom that only comes with age. In my business and personal affairs Ernie gave me some valuable advice that helped me get through some of my tough times. I wish I had some wisdom to offer you and your family now, but I do not. I only have my words that I very much liked and respected Ernie and that I enjoyed his company immensely. I have missed him since leaving Calgary but have thought of him often and will continue to do so. My best wishes to all of you in this difficult time. I may be far away but please know that my heart and thoughts are there with you. I will go out to my own back yard and have a coffee and a “smoke” in remembrance of a good man; a man we will all miss a lot.

We are very saddened to hear about Mr. Trent. I know that Duane respected him very much, and in the limited time that the girls and I spent with him, we saw a very kind-hearted and generous man. Even though we cannot be with you today, our thoughts and prayers are. May God bless you and give you strength today and always, and please know that Mr. Trent will be remembered by us.
