Condolences
Like many of the above, I knew Geoff, his parents and brother and sister when I was very young and Geoff was the “giant” but always gentle. I have a vivid memory of watching Geoff in grade 10 basketball at the west collegiate and Geoff scored the basket off the tip.
Gordon and I were shocked to read of Geoff’s passing in the Leduc paper. We have fond memories of our times together in Leduc and Gordon often spoke of Geoff over the years. In fact just weeks ago we were thinking about you and your family. We were in Calgary at the time of Geoff’s passing and had we known we would have attended. We go to Calgary often and would luv to stop by for a visit. Please email us at sjmaser@msn.com – in the meantime take care.
Martha and Family
It is with great sadness that I read about the passing of Geoff. I went to High School in Cobourg with Geoff, and played football and basketball with him. He was a great guy and I always enjoyed his great spirit. Sorry for your loss.

I played football and basketball with Jeff, he was a great guy and good competitor, my condolences to the Ravensdale family
Dear Martha: Thank you, Paul, for phoning me to tell me about your father. He had been through so much.
I have many fond memories of you and Jeff, especially of your wedding. It was easy being Jeff’s stepmother, and remember my visit to you in Leduc after Art died. You coped with having me there during an Air Canada strike, and managed to get a place for me on the train so I could get back to work in Cobourg.
I will phone you in a few weeks– you will be very busy for a while. It is good to be able to talk to you on the phone.
Love,
Betty
My condolences to the Ravensdale Family. I was saddened to read of Jeff’s passing in the Cobourg newspaper. I have many memories of Jeff while growing up as neighbours. My thoughts are with you all, Gord (brother of the late Bill Matthews)

Martha – my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today. Take comfort that Geoff is in a better place now. I never had a chance to get to know Geoff on a personal level, but certainly enjoyed the many years of working with you in our efforts to survive Grade 5. I have crossed paths with several of them, and they seem to be doing well, so I guess all our efforts paid off. Take care and God Bless! Joe Quinn
Dear Ravensdale Family
I just read about Jeff in the Cobourg paper. I went to school with Jeff. He was such a gentle giant to me (5′l). I remember in one class he sat behind me and his legs would come right up and past my desk.
I am so sorry for your loss at such an early age. My thoughts will be with you all on Saturday.
Sincerely
Lynn Ramsay

I was shocked and saddened to read about Geoffrey’s passing in the Cobourg paper. I used to be good friends with Geoffrey in the 50’s. In fact, we played together all the time as he lived on Bagot Street and I lived on Nunn Street. We were friends through elementary and high school. I was thrilled to see him again when he returned to Cobourg for our high school reunion. He will be missed by many.
