Obituary of RAVENSDALE – Geoffrey Arnold

September 2, 1945 – October 4, 2010 Geoffrey beloved husband of Martha of Carstairs, AB., passed away on October 4, 2010 at the age of 65 years. Jeff was born in Cobourg, ON. September 2, 1945. He was an avid sportsman as a young man enjoying basketball and football while attending Cobourg High School. Jeff met Martha in 1967 and they were married in 1968 and raised two very successful children. Jeff has been a very attentive husband, father and grandfather. He was intensely proud of his family and focused much of his time and energy on them. After school, and a short transportation career in Ontario, the family relocated to Leduc, AB. Where Jeff felt very much at home, He worked hard through his career eventually managing a large department within the Department of Transportation (maintenance division) in Grande Prairie where the family lived for eighteen years. Jeff retired in 2006, but it didn’t last long. He missed the camaraderie in the workplace and soon started working again once he and Martha relocated to Carstairs. Jeff loved to drive with his wife Martha to visit his grandchildren who live in Brandon, MB. Jeff will be remembered for his commitment and loyalty to his family and friends. Geoffrey is survived by his wife, Martha; son Paul (Shelly); granddaughters Amber, Chantel and Micaela, grandson Colin; daughter Cyndi (Fiancé John Trapp). Geoffrey was predeceased by his parents, Frances and Arthur Ravensdale. A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Airdrie Funeral Home (300 Towerlane Drive, Airdrie, Alberta) on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
