We will have a moment of silence for Ann Marie at our next CWL meeting.
Cecil, Pat, Anna, Tom and Claire,
Thinking of you all at this time when God called home one of his dearest angels. There are so many things that can be said of this wonderful woman, Anne Marie. She was such a dear friend and had a heart of gold. I was another fortunate lady to have had time with her when she was home to NS a few weeks ago. I will certainly enjoy all the wonderful memories, chats and good times spent together. To all of her family, God Bless and Look After you!

I knew Ann since about a day after she met Cecil and grew to like her very much. My wife and I often socialized with Cecil and Ann both before they moved to Calgary and after they returned to NS in retirement. I know she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. I am so sorry Cecil because I know from sad experience that losing such a long time mate and buddy leaves a vacuum which never completely goes away. Howard
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ann Marie. She was one of the most thoughtful, kind, caring and considerate people that I have ever met. Whenever one spoke to her, she always gave that person her complete attention and sincerest interest. I will truly miss her smile and her presence. What a very sad time for her family and friends.
To Cecil, your two children and your grandchildren. So sorry to hear about Anne Marie, she was an awesome lady. I met Anne Marie at MacDonald’s convenience in St. Andrews where I work. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Dear Uncle Cecil, Anna, Pat, Tom & Clairs,

Both Peter and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Ann Marie’s sudden passing. We have such fond memories of the many visits Ann Marie made to my parents house Helen (Balah) & Kilmer Dunn)in North Sydney. My Mom was very close to a lot of her cousins growing up and it continued through out the years, with visits and cards and letters at Christmas and special occasions. Her pleasant smile and pleasing personality will be sadly missed. Our sincere sympathy to you Anna and your family, and to Paula and Donnie and families. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time and that we care deeply.
With love Eileen and Peter Walsh, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney, N.S. B2A 1L9.
Dear Anna, Pat and family,
Please accept my heartfelt and deep sympathy for your loss. AnnMarie made many visits to our family home on Moulton Ave. and kept in touch with my parents Helen and Kilmer, over the years. I will remember her for the lovely person she was, always interested and caring of others, I always enjoyed being in her company. I know how deeply your family will miss her but you will cherish your memories. My husband and I send our sincerest sympathies. In friendship, Maureen and Lionel.
I feel so blessed to have had Aunt Anne in my life! She had such a fantastic spirit, sense of humour…and what a cook! I will miss her and my prayers are with you all!
Uncle Cecil, Anna, Pat, Tom and Clair: I am shocked and saddened by Aunt Anne’s sudden and tragic passing. My family and I have fond memories of the year we spent in Nova Scotia – we could always count on her wit, compassion and grace to smooth the way. She had a great capacity for making one feel important and really paying attention – especially the children….Listening to Ceilidh practice the Sax – with a smile no less. And Arran always knew there would be fresh baking waiting for him. Mairi will always remember her as the ‘Candy Cane Lady’.
She will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Much love, Coleen, John, Ceilidh, Arran, and Mairi
Heartfelt sympathy to you Cecil and Anna and family. Ann Marie was a great mom and wife, and a great community person while you lived in St. Andrews. She was very active with us on St. Andrews CWL and made many lasting friendships with lots of us in our community, and I treasure the visits back and she (and you too Anna) always found time to drop by the store to say hello!
We will remember her very fondly in our prayers.

Our prayers are with you at this sad time. We know what a kind and generous person Ann Marie was. She dearly loved her family and still had time to love our two boys when they were at school in the East. We have cherished our friendship with you both over the years in Calgary and in Antigonish. Ann Marie, may you rest in peace. Cecil, please keep in touch.
I’m so very sorry to hear that Ann Marie passed away so suddenly. She was one of the most caring, thoughtful, and wonderful persons I have ever met. What a shock! What terribly sad news. Ann Marie was one of the most uncomplaining and positive people ever.
I knew her first as a volunteer in my ESL class. She was so patient and understanding with the students. Then we heard her beautiful voice in choir. She truly had a lovely gift.
She tried some Scottish dancing with us and we were looking forward to when she was going to be healthy again and come back to dancing. Now, we hope she’s singing and dancing Nova Scotia reels in heaven.
Bless you Ann Marie. My husband and I are certainly going to miss you.
Anna & family
We are so very sad to hear of the passing of you mother. We had the fortunate of knowing her through Aunt Paula and Uncle Bob. The Barwell family spent some happy and fun times in her company. The one that comes first to mind was the suprise birthday for Aunt Paula which we all will remember. God Bless you all and help you through this very difficult time.

DEAR TOM & CLAIRE,
Tom and Claire we love you very much, but I suppose it is small compared to Gramma Anne’S love for you. Death is a mystery yet it is as normal as being born, except the fact that only God knows when we will be called to be with him. This time it was Gramma’S turn to be called home, but don’t you kid yourself she will be looking over you forever and the legacy of Gramma’S life be in your hearts
GOD BLESS YOU BOTH
LOVE UNCLE DON &AUNT SANDRA
Dear Anna,
I was so very sorry to hear of Ann’s sudden passing this week. I, like everyone else, was shocked by the suddenness of it all.
As I am sure you know I had known Ann since Paula and I were friends and that takes us back about 60+ years. She and my sister were 5 years older and I’ve been told we were a bit of a pain to them in those days. Ann was always very outgoing and certainly a beautiful girl / woman .
It was great to reconnect with her over the past few years when she was here to see Paula. I remember meeting you one time, many years ago, at your Grandma MacDonalds in North Sydney.
I know this is a most difficult time for you and your family as the loss of a dear one, especially a mother, is not easy. Ann was so proud of Thomas and Claire and it will be a void for them also.
Keep those good memories near,
With Sympathy,
Janet Knight

Dear Cecil and family, I was very saddened to hear the news of the passing of Ann Marie. She was a wonderful lady and she will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. Both Ann Marie and Cecil were incredibly generous and kind to me when I was a student attending STFXU from 1995-2000. After leaving my immediate family in BC, they stepped in and provided me with the sense of loving parents, which usualy included one of Ann Marie’s tasty home cooked meals. I will never forget their kindness. It meant a lot to me. I will miss you, Ann Marie. Thank you for everything.
We are really sorry to hear about Ann she was a special person and a great neighbour so sorry for your loss Angus and Diane
Uncle Cecil, Anna Maria, Patrick, Thomas and Claire – we are shocked and very sorry to hear of the loss of Ann. We had a wonderful visit with all of you this summer, and have a lot of good memories of this as well as (although long ago) good memories of many visits in the past. She was a very much ‘alive’ person, and we will always envision her as an ‘in charge’ woman. We are sorry you will not have her with you physically, but we know she will always be in your hearts. We share your grief, but celebrate her life, she brightened a lot of hearts.
This news of Anne Marie’s passing has come as a real shock to me and my family. I will always remember Aunt Ann from all the wonderful family gatherings both in St. Andrews and at my parents place at the Cove. In my University days she always provided an ear and timeless advice which I still remember today. Mine and my family’s hearts go out to Uncle Cecil and cousin Anna through this tough time.
Love and Prayers,
I remember Ann Marie as a very sweet person. Although I did not know her very well, I know she was a lovely lady. My condolences to Cecil and family.
