Obituary of LAMERS – Harold O.

May 5, 1933 – September 1, 2010 Harold O. Lamers, beloved husband of Irene Lamers, passed away, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the age of 77 years. Harold was a kind, gentle man who loved his work. He was loved by thousands of students over a thirty-five year teaching career as a teacher and principal with the Regina School Board. From 1968 to 1970, Harold took his career overseas to teach in Germany. Harold’s favourite hobbies were fishing and gardening. He took pride in making the best soup and cabbage rolls in the country. Many happy summers were spent in Echo Lake, SK, located in the Qu’Appelle valley. Harold was a very loving individual and was passionate about being together with his family. He enjoyed travelling with them. He was “the best dad and we were so close to him”! Harold and Irene were destined to be together and they married on December 29, 1954. Besides his soulmate Irene, Harold is survived by two daughters, Patti Lee Davison and her husband Ronald of Calgary, Leslie Anne Forbis and her husband Michael of Seattle, WA; five grandchildren, Kimberley, Chelsea, Ashley, Cameron, and Logan; and a sister Joyce Lutsch and her husband William. He was predeceased by an infant daughter Cheryl Elizabeth in 1955; brothers, George, Joe and Henry; sisters, Elsie Leippi, Lena Hubick, Nora Braaten, and Lydia Gelmich; and his parents Julianna and Konrad Lamers.
