Obituary of CARTER – Wendy Elizabeth

October 23, 1953 – August 26, 2010 Wendy after a courageous fight with Melanoma Cancer passed away quietly, at home, August 26th 2010, surrounded and supported by her family. Wendy graduated from Dawson College in Montreal, as a Medical Lab Technician, and worked first at the Royal Vic Hospital there, before coming out West in ‘75 to start a fresh new adventure in Calgary, where she met her husband Dave. She continued her career path at Rocky View, Red Deer General, then decided to stay at home for the formative years to raise their two sons, Trevor and Nick, who were her pride and joy. She continued on to further her business career in private labs, and eventually in sales with VWR, and BD Canada. She enjoyed her many achievements in life, especially her running of two full marathons with her running buddies. She also excelled in Tai Chi, which helped her during her battle with cancer. Some say she was taken too young, but she said she enjoyed her fifty-six years here. It was time for her to continue her journey. She is gone from this life, but she will be around in spirit, and missing her family named above, along with her parents Vic and Gwen Southin of Sechelt, BC; her brothers, Roger (Nicole), Steve (Maggie), and Peter; her father and mother-in-law Don and Alison Carter of Toronto; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve (Cathy) Carter of Toronto, Roslyn and Gerry Bimm of Otter Lake; and all her nieces and nephews, and relatives afar. Wendy also wanted to thank all her friends who supported her in so many ways, and gave her inspirations that were helpful during her time of need. A hug and kiss to you all. Special thanks to the Cross Cancer Clinic, Dr Smylie, Leslie Fedorak, and staff, along with the Tom Baker Clinic and the Home Care System, all of them FIRST CLASS!!
