I miss them all, terribly. Evie, I’ll come up and visit before long.

Auntie Grace (Marcolin) let us know of your Dad’s passing. Although we have lost touch over the years, he was a good friend to my Mum and Dad. I hope you have many wonderful memories. Condolences to all of you.

Dear Evelyn & Family
My sincere sympathy to you all. When I saw Bob’s picture in the paper it brought back so many good memories about the days we met at Aunt Else’s and the lively conversations and good food we shared.

Dear Evelyn, Jay, Betsy and Wilma
Very sorry to her about Bob’s passing. I first met him some 50 years ago when I came over to play at your house. Of course I saw him often over the years and had the privlege of working with him as a lawyer for close to 15 years. He had great sense of humour, gave wise counsel and was a class act. I’ll miss him.
Sorry I can’t be at the funeral as I’m out of town. My sympathies.
My condolences to Evelyn and her family in their loss

Affectionately, Doug and Carol Fraser
Dear Evelyn and family
Bob was a good Scout. We always appreciated his common sense advice and his support both for the local Scout Council and the Scout Foundation. In the years I worked with him, I learned that when Bob spoke, it was always important and thoughtful advice. We will miss him.

Dear Evelyn and all members of the Black Family,
I wish to express my condolences and sadness on Bob’s passing. Although we had not been in close contact in recent years, the strong friendship we developed many years ago, which grew out of our business relationship, was indelible. Bob had the unique ability to combine outstanding professional ability with a warm, genuine personal touch. He was not only a great lawyer and friend, but also a great Canadian.
Mr. Black was a long time friend of the Leslie family.
….And every moment has a gentle end, but no moment is forgotten. May you find comfort in the many memories over a generous lifetime with Bob.
Marilynn Brown (Leslie)
Evelyn : My most sincere condolences on the passing of your dear husband Bob. He was a man of stature and a true gentleman in every sense of that word. He contributed greatly to the professional and community and philanthropic life of Calgary and will be missed by many.
My deep sympathy to your and your family.

My thoughts are with you all in this time of sorrow. Bob had a warm heart for everyone and was the kindest man you could ever meet. I feel honored to have known him.
Dear Evelyn, Jay, Betsy and Wilma, Bea and I grieve with you on the loss Bob. Bob was a man we admired greatly. He was a man of high principles who gave much of himself to both the legal profession and to public service. He was a popular and outstandingly successful Chair of the Board of the Foothills Hospital during its early developing years. He nutured those he worked with and was a most willing and energetic mentor. He believed deeply in his family and displayed nothing but pride in Evelyn, his children and their children. Bob will be sorely missed by all.
I met Mr Black while working on the history of McCarthy Tetrault published in 2005. He welcomed me to his home and we recorded a long and most informative conversation about his life in law — now preserved by the firm librarians in Calgary. It was an honour and a pleasure to meet him then, and I extend my sympathies to all his family.
Dear Jay,
I would like to extend my condolences to you and your family. May your father rest in peace.
