Re: Norma Steckley Courtney…My heart was saddened to learn of Norma’s passing…I was a very close family friend who absolutely adored her. I remember when she got married in old Cooksville, living also in Port Burwell, and Streets Ville Ont. I remember her having her children & the great joy they all brought to her. I remember her infectious laughter…I remember her kindness…I remember her staying a few days with my parents at the old house on Agnes St. in Cooksville and how excited I was because my mom gave her “my bedroom”, I also remember her wedding gown..and material left over so her mom, Mrs. S. made my doll a bride gown from the remnents with a veil…all memories…of the wonderful person I knew and loved. I remember her inviting us to dinner as a new bride, and serving raw potatoes..and un cooked roast, and my mom kicked me under the table cause I was rude and told Norma the meal was not cooked…oh the laughter! Now they are all gone…but never forgotten…rest my dear friend and know that I will never forget you…

May God be with your children and grandchildren at this time to comfort them in their great loss…

I love you Norma Steckley…..you are now with your son, mom and dad and sister Joan….rejoice !

My deepest sympathy goes out to all Norma’s family. I knew Norma from the Jackpot Junction Bingo Hall. What a kind, soft spoken lady she was. She was very thoughtful when I lost my son and came by the house with food. I will always remember that.

When I returned to work this morning, I was told that your mother had passed away last week. I was so sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to all of your family today and in the difficult days ahead.

I lost my dad when I was 13 and that was hard. I remember him even today. The bond between a mother and daughter, however, is special. Remember her in your heart, where she will live forever in your memories.

We were quite surprised when we heard about your mother passing on so quickly.

We will miss her a lot. I worked at the Jackpot Bingo Hall for 7 years and as a volunteer for Canyon Meadows as did my friend Bernie.

Norma always found a way of making people feel good, she always was a big help to everyone and made us laugh a lot. She also did some sewing for us at which she knew her business.

She always spoke so highly of you Lee as well as your husband Jeff. Her pride and joy were your two young children.
