Obituary of GARCIA – Vincent

August 4, 1933 – July 25, 2010 After a brave struggle with cancer, Vincent passed away with his eldest daughter by his side at the Southwood Care Centre on July 25, 2010 at the age of 76, just ten days shy of his 77th birthday. Originally from Bilbao, Spain, Vincent moved to Canada at the age of 18, and worked as a carpenter for his entire career. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, tending to his vegetable garden, eating good food, and socializing and dancing with friends. Vincent is survived by his two daughters Emerald (Dave) and Kirsten, his beloved grandson Damien, his sister Carmen (Jack), brother Victor, nephew Robert (Kelly), and nieces Marilyn (Lin), Gillyan, Alison (Stuart) and Erin (Javier). He is also survived by numerous friends, an aunt in Spain and cousins in France. He was predeceased by his parents Agustin and Dolores Garcia, and his sister-in-law Stephanie. A memorial service and celebration in honour of Vincent’s birthday will be held at McInnis and Holloway Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary AB, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010.
