Obituary of CUMMING – Wesley Watson

September 21, 1934 – July 16, 2010 Wesley Cumming, a man beloved and treasured by all who knew him, died peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre on Friday, July 16, 2010 with family by his side. His struggle with cancer over many years was marked by courage and grace. The lives of Wesley’s family and friends have been enriched by his presence. He was a gentle soul. His example of loving unconditionally, living in the moment, finding joy in nature, and always lending a helping hand is part of the legacy he leaves us. Wesley was born in High River, the youngest of six children, Keith (Liz), Doreen, Elaine, Lloyd (Beth), and Eldon, who died at the age of four. Wesley grew up on the family farm at Cayley and moved to High River with his parents upon their retirement in 1965. He was predeceased by his parents Ted in 1970 and Eva in 1983. Wesley then moved to Calgary to be cared for by Doreen Orman, his sister and guardian and Lloyd Cumming his brother and co-guardian. He lived in family support homes under the auspices of the Developmentally Disabled Resource Centre, (DDRC), the most recent with Aurele, Dorrie and Alexandria Chevier, where he lived for the past twelve years. He spent weekends with family members. Wesley is survived by his sisters and brothers and their spouses, nieces and nephews; Catherine, Bruce, Kevin, Jamie, Nancy, John, Leslie, Ross, Jennifer, Rick, Maureen, Eldon, Dianne, Darlene and many great nieces and nephews.
