Dear Feiko,

My sincere condolences. I had no idea your mom was even ill. To say I was surprised and saddened would be an understatement. I hope her last days were reasonably pain-free with her loved ones around. I would so like to know when/if you are having a memorial for her – I missed your dad’s as I believe we were living in the US at the time.

Before I go on for too long I just wanted to let you know that I have always held both of you parents in high esteem and I am saddened by your loss. I hope you will do me the honour of keeping in contact with me – I have always enjoyed your company as well.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Inge’s death and suffering. She was a wonderful spirited woman, and she is a great loss to us who knew her. I will miss her and her cheerful ways and inspiring designs.
