Condolences
To all Allen’s family/sibblings my deepest sympathy. As I return to Calgary after 40 years, it is sad to have seen Allen’s obituary in the paper. Auntie Liela was my Godmother & of course I have many fond memories of our families together, way back when. Ron & Baine may remember Uncle Pete & Auntie Dot Gerlitz’ visits but that’s stretching it. But at this time of mourning for a loved one, it is sometimes nice to just slip back a few years, that seem to have gone so very, very fast!!
With love & deepest sympathy
Sharon Robson (nee Gerlitz)
On behalf on Hospice Calgary/Rosedale Hospice, please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of someone so dear. I enjoyed very much our association with Allen; he was a true gentleman with a kind and giving heart. I so enjoyed our conversations, whether on the telephone or over a pancake at the Stampede breakfasts held at the Spielman’s home. He will be missed.
Kind regards,
Trish Carter
Bev & family,
Our thoughts are with you at this sad and lonely time. We enjoyed Al’s wit and good company.
Bev, Kathy Kardelis informed me of your loss. No words can express my sadness for the hurt and ache you and your children must be feeling. You, my friend, are in my thoughts. Remember each thought is a silent prayer for you and the family. Sending a big bear hug to you (well as big as it can be for a five footer!!). Did you smile or laugh. Great. Thinking of you. Jo
Bev and Family, We are sorry to hear of Al’s passing. On behalf of Irene and the entire family we offer you our prayers. Al’s friendship meant a lot to Mum and Dad over the years and he was a great role model for so many in Air Cadets.

Most of my memories of Allen were from my very early childhood years in Calgary as a new ‘member’ of the family.
I remember a generous, funny, welcoming new cousin and will always treasure that memory.
Bev – I know you and the kids will miss him so very much, but to have had the years you did with someone so special will hopefully be of some comfort.
Prayers and best wishes…Sherrie Todd, Fort Collins, Colorado

His Journey’s Just Begun
Don’t think of him as gone away –
His journey’s just begun,
Life holds so many facets –
This earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and comfort
Where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched…
For nothing loved is ever lost –
And he was loved so much.
Al and I worked together throughout most of his career. I found him to always be very pleasent to work with.. My condolences go out to his total family – God Bless You All
