Obituary of DALY – Janet Patricia

June 19, 1957 – June 21, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce Janet’s passing, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. She was lovingly cared for at home by her husband Darryl Lang. Janet’s vibrant spirit will be forever cherished by Darryl, her sons, Bradley and Patrick Christie, her parents Bob and Sheila Daly, her sister Shannon Daly (Lowell Westersund), nephew Ryan Algar, Darryl’s daughters and grandchildren, extended family members and innumerable friends. Janet was born in Calgary and attended Earl Grey, Rideau Park and Western Canada High Schools before graduating from U of C with a Physical Education degree. Janet loved being physically active and inspiring others with her passion. She worked for many years at the Glencoe Club and Bow Valley Club as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. She was an outdoor girl who loved hiking, biking and skiing in her beloved Rocky Mountains, and walking on sandy tropical beaches. Janet was happiest when surrounded by friends: her hiking or snowshoeing groups, or the Wild Women of Wildwood. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to support Brad and Pat who are riding a tandem bike in the Ride to Conquer Cancer this weekend (www.conquercancer.ca, 1-888-624-2453). A Celebration of Janet’s Life will take place at the Glencoe Club on Monday, June 28, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please wear casual clothes and bright colours, which Janet loved.
