Obituary of WANG – Nancy Yan
September 26, 1964 – June 13, 2010
On Sunday June 13, 2010, Nancy Yan Wang finished her journey on the earth peacefully with her entire family by her side. This trip took her exactly 16,696 days.
Nancy was born on Saturday September 26, 1964 in a mid-sized village in Shandong Province, People’s Republic of China. She became the first one in her village to enter a college by 1983. She started her career as an oral surgeon in a district hospital in 1986. She removed thousands of teeth for her patients upon their requests. She also made a lot of people look better by using scalpels and stitches.
In 2000, she moved to Canada, a country where she belongs now, with her excellent son Richard, to meet her beloved husband, Felix, who happens to be a tooth-lover (one who loves pulling teeth), too. They bore a beautiful princess, Carol, in 2002 who inherits both mom and dad’s merits on top of those God has given to herself. What a happy family!
In the last twenty three months, she bravely fought against a cancer with great support from the family, the church, and friends. Huge thanks are also given to the palliative care units in the Calgary Health Region for their care and attention given to her.
She is now survived by all three members of her loving family.
A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
