Obituary of JACOBSEN – Lornadele

May 3, 1937 – May 28, 2010 Lornadele (Lorna) Jacobsen, beloved wife of Norman Jacobsen, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010 at the age of 73 years. At a young age Lorna dedicated her life to nursing and Christian service. She completed a BSc in nursing and a diploma in public health and one year at bible school. She worked for five years as a public health nurse in Alberta, fulfilling the necessary requirement for international nursing. Lorna was commissioned by the Baptist General Conference for missionary service in Assam India where she instructed at the Tezpur Nursing Teaching Hospital for five years. In 1968 she left India due to political unrest and spent one year deputizing in North America. From 1969 to 1972 she worked in Calgary Public Health. In 1973 she married Norman Jacobsen, a widowed farmer with four young children. Twins were born in 1975. She remained a faithful servant of God her entire life. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church (20 Banister Gate, Okotoks, AB) on Monday, May 31, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
