Obituary of LaBELLE – Douglas Paul

June 7, 1987 – May 13, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son, brother, and uncle, Douglas Paul LaBelle on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the age of 22 years. Doug will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by his mother Carol Page; father Paul LaBelle (Jane); his sister and best friend Jennifer, and her son Austin. Doug was a creative and gifted young man, an honors student with a natural curiosity. Whether it be figuring out complex chemical equations, building computers, playing guitar or working with his father on a building project, Doug had the drive to learn and ability to create whatever he set his mind to. He was an avid hockey player and loved the mountains where he enjoyed climbing in the Banff and Canmore area. Over the past few years, Doug also became passionate about motorcycle riding. A natural rider, he rode his Harley Davidson Sportster whenever the weather allowed. Articulate and compassionate, people of all ages naturally gravitated to Doug. Doug is also survived by his grandmother Georgina Page, numerous aunts and uncles – Tom Page (Dani), Linda Church (Bill), Marg LaBelle, Bill LaBelle (Jane), Sandy LaBelle (Marilyn), and Maureen Perkins (Ian), along with numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Fred Page, grandmother Catherine LaBelle, grandfather Maurice LaBelle and cousin Bernie LaBelle. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends and family so desire, memorial tributes in Doug LaBelle’s honor may be made directly at any ATB Financial Branch where donations will be used to establish a memorial resting bench along a mountain trail.
