Obituary of FIOR– Addiano John

October 7, 1933 – April 22, 2010 The world has lost a tremendously giving man of great stature. A man truly loved by his family. Mr. Addiano John Fior of Calgary passed away suddenly at his southwest residence on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the age of 76 years. He was predeceased by his wife Dale in 1996. He leaves to mourn his two daughters Liana and Michelle (Sheldon) of Calgary, his sister Diana Zuccaro (Vincent) and family in San Jose, California. Add was born and raised in the Toronto area and he and his family moved to Calgary in 1981. He graduated from University of Toronto with a BA in Economics and then went on to York University where the earned his MBA. Before coming to Calgary he worked for Ontario Hydro. In Calgary he was employed with Petro Canada for 17 years. He was raised in an Italian community where he learned at an early age to give back to the community. He was a great volunteer for the Knights of Columbus, the Canadian Ski Patrol, the Calgary Stampede, the Marching Bands of Calgary, the 1988 Olympics and the Olympic Oval Speed Skating. He will be missed by all, including his dear friend Ann. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, April 26, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow in Holy Family Cemetery at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
