Condolences
Dear Roberta Amy and Jen:
I just heard of Ron’s passing today – he was a great man with a great heart and a great sense of humour. All my deepest condolences.
My condolences to your family for your loss. I had the pleasure of knowing Ron while I worked at the south office. Ron was always cheerful and had a great sense of humour. I enjoyed my many conversations with him, especially about his dogs. Ron was a wonderful person and he will be truly missed. Take comfort in the memories.
Hi Roberta
I was truly saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. Ronny was truly one of the good ones. He went through a lot as a kid and it always struck that he never ever complained but put his head down and kept moving ahead. You could always count on him. He always took care of business and was inspiring to us guys who had things a lot easier.
With all of us moving around the country and such we didn’t get much chance to get together over the years but whenever we did it like was like not missing a beat. I guess the last time I saw Ron was at Jim’s mom’s funeral. ( She always had a soft spot for Ron). He was so proud of you and the kids and was telling me how lucky and happy he was. Just like him.
I know you and the kids will miss him greatly and that the hurt must be pretty bad right now. My prayers are with you that in time the pain resides and you can look back with a smile and be able to celebrate his life and your time together with joy.
My sincere condolences to you all.

My sympathy to Roberta and family. I worked with Ron for several years in the North Office and he was a joy to work with. Ron had the greatest sense of humour and loved to joke. He used to call me “Tante Jeannine” My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
I am shocked to hear of Ron’s passing. I worked with Ron in the south office for the 4 years I lived in Alberta. The obituary is spot on –Ron was a riot! I moved back to NS and he was the one and only that I kept in touch with, likely due to our Hants County connection. I’m still in sheer disbelief…it seems we were just exchanging jokes via e-mail.
I am so sorry for your loss…he will most definitely will missed.
Jenn, Amy, Roberta, and Families,
I am so sorry to hear about your Dad’s passing. He is a great guy and must have been so proud to be a grandpa. I remember many hours with him carpooling to the pool and his love of hockey (the wrong team of course!). My thoughts and love are with you all in this difficult time,
Tina
To the Defoy family from all of us at the Calgary Jewish Centre Babecare:
Our deepest sympathy to all of you.
I had the pleasure of working with Ron for a number of years.
Ron was a remarkable man with a smile that could brighten your day and a sense of humor that could get you laughing no matter how bad things were.
My deepest sympathies to you and family.
Silvia
I worked with Ron for several years at the South office. In fact my desk was behind him and the baffle fell on him one day, despite this he was always happy and brought joy to all of us. His love for his family was something that could not go with notice as we heard stories about weekend garage saling adventures. He loved to make fun of us and tell us about his garage sale finds. Ron will always have a special place in my heart as I can still hear him calling me “little bus person” in his attempted Ukranian accent, as he used to tease me about bundling up to walk to the train in winter. I am truly sorry for this loss to your family of such a wonderful man.
Karen
To Ron’s family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I was just a “little guy” by the time Ron left the family house. Unfortunately I have only a few memories of him while I was growing up. I guess that happens when you are the youngest of the family. I really wish things could have been different. Stay strong and know that he is resting in a better place.
David Robertson (The “baby” of the 9).
Ib and I are so sorry to see that Ron had passed away. Our prayers are sent to all in the family.

Roberta and family,
We both had the sincere pleasure of working with Ron and hearing stories of his vacations and grandchildren. We were so saddened to hear of his passing. He will always be remembered at work for his amazing smile and sense of humor. Our condolences go out to you and everyone that Ron touched.
Sincerely, Christine and Jennifer.
I am so saddened at the news of Ron’s passing away. I worked for Ron for a few years and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. His family was so important to him and he spoke of you often. His sense of humor always made life seem just a bit easier and Ron will be missed by so many. My sympathy for your loss.
Roberta, Jennifer and Darryl, Amy and Sandy,
I have never met you, but I worked with Ron for several years. I was very shocked and saddened to hear about Ron’s sudden passing. My thoughts are with you all in this difficult time. Ron will be missed at work, especially his sense of humor and his wonderful smile. I am sorry I won’t be able to attend the service for Ron on Friday as I will be in Mexico, and I will be thinking of Ron and you, Roberta, as I know you enjoyed many vacations together there. My condolences to you and all of Ron’s family and friends.
Sincerely, Leslie Lauer
Roberta – I worked with Ron and you and I have only met a couple times, at Safeway while you were shopping and Jim and I stopped by your house while you were having a garage sale. I can’t begin to imagine the sorrow that you are your family are feeling at this time and we are so sorry for your loss. I know that there are no words that can make any of this make sense or take away your pain at this time. Ron will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Who is going to remind me now weekly how much money I am wasting by being a Safeway shopper!!! We don’t really know each other but if there is ANYTHING you need at ANYTIME day or night, whether it’s just to go for a walk or go for coffee just because you need someone to talk to – PLEASE don’t hesitate to call me. I am not far – in Bridlewood. Again, we are so sorry for your loss. Judy Chamberlain 256-6615
