Obituary of DEFOY – Ronald Charles

January 23, 1950 – April 15, 2010 Ronald Charles Defoy beloved husband of Roberta of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the age of 60 years. Family was the most important aspect of Ron’s life. He was an avid Habs Fan from the age of seven, when he paid 25 cents to stand in the “nose bleeds” at The Forum. His greatest asset was his sense of humour and seeing the best side of everyone. Ron enjoyed travelling to Mexico for many years with Roberta, where he thought he was bilingual. He was a mentor to many people and was a best friend to all. Ron was the best friend, high school sweetheart and husband to Roberta (Dan) for thirty-eight years. He was affectionately known as “Bear” to his two daughters, Jennifer (Darryl) and Amy (Sandy). Ron was very proud of his two grandchildren, Will and Kenzie and was an uncle to Benjamin, Shane and Jasmine. He will be remembered by his eight younger siblings. His “Calgary family”, Gammy, Erin, Marnie, Kelly, Robert, Kate and Dylan will miss their uncle Ron. Ron was predeceased by his parents Mary and Fernand Defoy.
