Condolences
My sincerest condolences are sent to you and all your family. Maria was a very generous woman and was always so welcoming to my parents whenever she saw them in Calgary or Trail. Somewhere up in heaven the Poscente clan are having a great welcoming party for her.

On behalf of the Fabbi family….Our Sincere Condolences on your great loss.
Your Mom will always be remembered for her warmth and hospitality. May the love and support from family and friends help you thru this most difficult time.
Zia Maria will always be more than a loving memory. She was an institution in her own generatrion. She was dear to each and every one of our children. Vince, Steven and Christa enjoyed her hospitality as much as Ernie and I did.
No Italian banquet will ever compare to the meals we shared with our Auntie. One serving was never enough. Zia Maria would hand us the platter. She would Suggest strongly, “Mangia. I have to washa the plate>” And we would almost lick the platter clean, to try to show appreciation for her culinary talents. (even though we thought we could not eat another bite.) Maria was proud of her children and their children, and her extended family. I wlll always cherish how she would greet me (Petta) with kisses, hugs and generosity of mind and spirit. We always felt welcome. We believe Maria has been greeted in Heaven with the same warmth and sincerity that she showed to all of us, throughout her life. The world is a better place because our Zia Maria lived abundantly and walked in the ways of our Lord. Sincere condolences to all the family.. all who cherished Maria. Pat, Vince, Steven and Christa and families in Edmonton, Dallas and Las Vegas.
All my very sincerest sympathies. I always remember visiting such a happy home – this is where I learned to make rice crispies squares. I’m sure you all have great memories of happy times together – my thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time

Dear Poscente Family,
My name is Cathy Bates. Maria worked for my Dad, Ken Bates, at the Holy Cross Hospital for many years.
As a child, I remember with great fondness the many times she had our entire family over for her home cooked Italian food. I can still hear her saying, “eatah!! eatah!! EATUH!!!” and then, after all that, she sent us home with the leftovers.
I remember her kind face and her warm personality when I visited my Dad at work, at her home and at the Italian family weddings to which we were invited. Hearing “Poscente” always put a smile on my face.
I don’t live in Calgary anymore but have a trip planned for April 22. I am sad I will miss her funeral because I would have attended.
Thoughts and prayers to the entire Poscente Family. “Poscente”, as we called her, touched our entire family and gave us life long, unforgettable memories.
RIP Poscente.
Ken and I have many happy memories of time spent with Maria at her home, sharing a bowl of pasta, salad from her garden and a glass of Benedetto’s home-made wine. Maria’s warm personality and her wonderful sense of humor endeared her to all. Due to Ken’s failing health, we have been unable to keep in contact but our thoughts are with you at this sad time. Maria truly was a classy lady.
Dear Larry and Liz,
I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I remember her joining us for many family events (reunions, weddings) and she was always so welcoming and kind. It was especially nice to know she was there as family for our son Paul and his family in Calgary. Maria will be missed by all who knew her.
Much love,
Lucy
