I am so sorry for your loss. I felt fortunate to have met your mother recently and, though it was a brief visit, I sensed a remarkable woman. It was wonderful to see you, too, after all these years. The Campbell family is thinking of you all.

Dear Nelson,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Although I didn’t have the privilege of knowing your wife Thordis, I know that you shared a good life together and made some important contributions to the lives that you’ve touched. I’m sure that you will miss her tremendously, and my heart goes out to you. Take care Nelson.
Dear Thordis family!
Thordis was alway such a friendly and cheerful person. She always wanted to know more! I loved her very much and will miss her.
A very special woman has left us. My regard for Thordis is very high and strong. She was a beautiful woman in many ways. She was intelligent and caring and was an inspiration to me. I admired her for her quick wit, her knowledge, her sense of homour and her willingness to engage in discussion in all matters. She will be sorely missed. I am thankful to have known her.
Dear Nelson and family,
Am very glad that Thordis was able to pass peacefully at home surrounded by those she loved.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Ingrid Ektvedt
Tannis, Nelson and family,
My heartfelt condolences. Thordis was a gem. I will always remember her with great fondness, as her welcoming spirit, throaty laugh, keen intellect and sense of curiousity made her so easy to be with. I certainly looked forward to conversations with her. They left me feeling gently challenged to be a bit better person and to contribute a bit more to my world. I liked that. And … she was the only left-leaning mom that I knew! That gave me hope. I know you will all miss her terribly. She was truly unique and special. I will be there on Wednesday to pay my repsects.
Nelson and Family
We are both thinking of you and your family at this time – I know that Rick really wants to attend the service celebrating Thordis’ life. If he isn’t able to convey his sympathies to you in person, please be assured we are with you in our hearts.

Nelson, I read in the paper about your profound loss today, and wanted to send a brief note to offer my best wishes, thoughts and prayers to you and your family during this difficult time. Though we have lost touch over the years, I do think about you and the impact you made on my university experience. I do know that your family, and wife meant a lot to you. May you find comfort during this difficult time, and peace knowing you have both loved and been loved greatly. Best wishes and sympathies.
