Obituary of PRICE – Ruthanne

June 20, 1931 – April 2, 2010 Surrounded by her family, who loved her so much, Ruthanne, our dear mom, grandma, great grandma and friend passed away peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2010 after a brief illness. All who knew and loved her will remember her as a kind and generous soul who loved being surrounded by family and friends, playing bridge, visiting Hawaii and keeping a keen eye on the stock market. One of her favourite places to visit was Maui, having been there almost every year for the past 35 years. She made many life long friends in Maui and was very happy to see them this past January. One of her greatest pleasures in Maui was relaxing on the l’anai with her binoculars and spotting whales for everyone. Ruthanne was an avid bridge player and a life master for many years. She had a wide circle of friends from the bridge world and many loved the challenge of playing with or against her at the table. We take peace in the fact that Ruthanne has now joined her husband, Stan, who she has so dearly missed over the past six years – we all miss you both. Left with many fond memories are her children Kathleen (Graham) Vaughan, Colleen Price, Stan (Sabina) Price, Tobin (Janet) Price, Mike (Sherry) Price, and Maureen (Martin) MacDonald; grandchildren Brigette (Glen), Thomas, Erin, Michael, Heather, Andrew, Derek, Jennifer, Lauren, Owen, Cameron, Mary-Ellen, Stephanie, Arthur, Dalton, Trevor and Katherine and great grandchildren, Cole and Brock. Ruthanne was predeceased by her parents Grace and John Tobin and beloved dog Maui. A Celebration of Ruthanne’s Life will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010 between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Glencoe Club Calgary, (636, 29 Ave SW).. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to thank the ICU unit at the Peter Lougheed Hospital for their care and compassion through our difficult time.
