Dear Aunt Stella, Norman, Susan, Robert and families,
A kind, tall, generous, and distinguished man are words that would describe my Uncle Jim. Memories as a young girl of the many summers spent together at our cottages on the Big Whiteshell Lake, the many fishing trips with my family and yours, hanging out with cousins Norman and Susan, and watching my Dad and Uncle Jim filet fish-after-fish for hours at the end of an abundant day’s catch; they were like a well-oiled machine, preparing pickerel and pike for long winter feasts. I’ll never forget a patient Uncle Jim who taught me how to swim, even after swimming lessons had failed me.
Now living on Salt Spring Island on the west coast of BC, Brian and I were privileged to spend time with Aunt Stella and Uncle Jim when they stayed in Victoria over several years. It was a treat and privilege to get to know this lovely man once again. He will be missed by so many who loved him. Cherish the memories.
