Obituary of HARDIE – James Ritchie

November 18, 1925 – March 25, 2010 After a brief illness and surrounded by his family, James (Jim) Ritchie Hardie passed away on March 25, 2010 at 84 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife of almost sixty years, Stella; children Norman (Barbara), Susan (Barry) and Robert (Virginia); grandchildren Janet, Christine, Amanda and Steven; and great grandchildren Andrew and Nathan. Jim was born in Winnipeg, MB. After serving as a Corporal in the Army for two years, he married Stella in 1950. They moved to Calgary in 1971, where he was the General Sales Manager of Manalta Coal until his retirement in 1991. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Jim and Stella enjoyed travelling and cruising, seeing much of the world. The family would like to thank Dr. Calder and the staff on Unit 73 at Rockyview Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness.
