Condolences
When my son first took up hockey at the age of 4 he was the only one on the ice with the upturned ice cream bucket to help him stand up. He hated hockey! He’d leave the rink in tears – Coach Brad would pick him up and skate around the ice with him until Reggie cheered up. I was almost in tears myself and asked Brad if I should stop pushing my son to play hockey. Brad smilingly assured me that Reggie would pick it up in no time and that soon I wouldn’t be able to get him off the ice. Brad was so right! Reggie not only plays regular season hockey, skates on the outdoor rink in Varsity every chance he can get, he also plays spring hockey and begs to go to summer camps! I can only thank Brad. Had he not been the coach/man he was Reggie would not be the boy he is today. Please accept my most heartfelf condolences on behalf of my family. He is remembered in our prayers.
We are sorry to hear this sad, sad news. I remember like it was yesterday when we met Brad in Crowchild arena for the first time in 2005. We were newcomers to Canada and he was Matt’s first and favorite Canadian coach. Matt was talking about Brad often, long time after we moved out from Calgary. I remember how all kids and parents in our team loved Brad. He will never be forgotten. We will pray for him and for Christine, Connor and Daniel.
Dear Marty and Eileen and family:
Reading all the wonderful comments about the Brad we never knew makes it even more difficult to imagine the loss you must feel. Our love and prayers go out to you and will call at a later date. Iris and Ed at Theodore Sask..
Cousin Eileen, Marty and family,
Our sincere sympathy to all your family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.
Marty, Eileen and Family
I am so very sorry for your loss. You have such an amazing family, I hope your love for each other will help you get through each day. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Dear Christine, Connor & Daniel; Marty & Eileen, and all of Brad’s Family,
It is with great sadness that I have heard of Brad’s passing and I wish to pass on my sincere condolences to his entire family and all his close friends.
I wish to extend these condolences on behalf of myself and my wife, Jane, as well as on behalf of the entire “Vikings” Family. Jane and I first met Brad in our Freshman year at CLC. I was a rookie player with the Vikings in 1986-87 when “Bobby” was living in the dorms with J.J., Scotty, Cam, Kevin, et al; and they were a group of guys that made me feel like I had truly chosen a very special place to go to university.
Bobby always had a smile on his face and a positive thing to say! I remember how hard he would train in the weight room and how he always made time for his friends when they needed to talk.
As the current Head Coach of the Vikings Hockey Program, I am deeply saddened that we, as well, have lost a member of our Vikings Family.
Brad will always be remembered as a great friend and Viking mate by all of the Vikings and Vikings Alumni.
Sincerely,
Blaine Gusdal
Head Coach
U of A – Augustana Vikings
Christine, Connor and Daniel, Bruce & Pauline.
You are all in my prayers at this terrible time. From all of the memories, tales, stories and events that I have heard and read about regarding Brad we have all lost a very special person. I unfortunately never had an opportunity to spend time getting to know my nephew but it is so apparent that you were all very lucky and blessed to have had such a wonderful man in your lives.
As Brad Rest’s in Peace I hope that you are all able to find peace here on earth. As the song says, this is only our ‘temporary home’, Brad is home now.
Love (Auntie) Valerie
Christine, Connor and Daniel,
Words can’t explain how profoundly saddened we were to hear of Brad’s passing. Brad’s magnetism was larger than life. Not in a loud way, but through his gentle kind heart and spirit. The impact he made on all those he touched will resonate in each and everyone of us. He was an inspiration and blessing to so many little lives…his gifts will never be forgotten.
May peace and God’s love be with you always,
Mark, Barb, Ben, Jackson and Jonah
Christine, Connor & Daniel,

Brad will truly be missed by not only his family but by many people, he was a very Special guy.
We hope and pray that you can find the strength to carry on with all the wonderful memories that you have of your husband and father, we know that he would want you to remember him this way!
Take Care of yourselves.

Dear Pasishnek Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Brad’s passing. He will be missed by everyone. Brad met my son Gavin on the first day of Tim Bits hockey evaluations. Gavin was nervous (so was I) because Gavin was going to be pushing a bucket. Brad came over to Gavin and offered to help him get on the ice and into the session. Gavin’s confidence rose quickly. With Brad’s patience and guidance the bucket was a thing of the past within minutes. Brad’s positive attitude was evident when ever we crossed paths, always a smile and a hello. Our Prayers are with you all.
Gerry and Gavin Huizer
It is with sadness I send my condolences to the entire Pasishnek Family. Our paths have not crossed for many years but I remember the good times shared with Brad at Midnapore Nazarene Churh in the Youth Group. He always had a smile and a kind word and could make a bad day good just being around him. I will keep you in my prayers and hope you can draw strength from the Memories of all the good things Brad has done.

Christine, Connor, Daniel and the entire Pasishnek family,
We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of such a special person. Brad has made a positive impact on our lives through his gentle approach and his special ability to connect with kids. My son loved Brad as a person and as a coach…..he will never be forgotten. God bless you Brad! Our thoughts and prayers go out to Christine, Connor and Daniel….God bless all of you!
Stu Gilman and Family
We are so sorry to hear about Brad’s passing, please accept our deepest condolences. Cristian and Connor attended school together since Kindergarten and Brad coached Cristian in soccer. He was so kind and demonstrated so much patience with the kids. Please take comfort in all the wonderful memories that you all shared with Brad. May the good Lord give you strength and courage to get through this most difficult time.
We are so sorry to hear of Brad’s passing. This world has lost one of it’s best and heaven has gained him. I remember when starting at Pepsi Brad was an encouragement to me. He defended me against another’s attack. He struck me as the protector of the underdog, gentle and kindhearted. Our thoughts and prayers are for you and your family.

To the Pasishnek Family (my friend Nicole)
I am so sorry to hear of this news today and for your loss! I just cannot find words. My prayers go out to you and the family at this time of grieving. I pray for comfort and peace for your family, Brads wife and his two children! May God wrap his arms around you during this time!
Love you!

Dear Chris, Connor and Daniel
We are deeply saddened with the passing of Brad. Brad was a wonderful man and someone that we all looked up too. I know it is hard to remain positive in times like these, but looking back our family was very fortunate to have met Brad and share some great times together. In particular, Brad always put a smile on Carter’s face (on and off the ice). He would always come home “pumped” from a hockey game or practice every time Brad was on the ice, behind the bench or in the stands. This was not just the result of his strong technical skills, but his gift to teach children and always stressing the importance of having fun. We are truly going to miss Brad, but I have feeling the rubber chicken games will continue at the rink, and this largely part of Brad’s ability to put a smile on everyone’s face. Brad, you can rest in peace that we are here to help your family in the future and are available 24/7 to do so. This is just a small appreciation for the joy you have brought to our family. Cheers my friend.
It is with sadness and shock that I offer my sincerest condolences to Christine and all of Brad’s extended family. I was fortunate to attend university in Calgary with Brad and Christine. I will always remember him for his warm smile and kindness through the “busy times” at school.

To Christine, Connor and Daniel Pasishnek, and to all of Brad’s family our deepest condolences at your loss.
This message is sent to you from a group of people that you have probably never met, as we knew Brad from his time at CLC in Camrose. We shared our lives with him while living in the same dorm, attending the same classes, sharing meals, playing hockey with, and spending quiet Sundays sitting around talking and enjoying each other’s company.
In our lives we are inevitably bound to two groups of people, our family and our friends. One group we are gifted with, the other we get to choose. For those of us who knew Brad in Camrose (or Bobby as we came to call him) I believe that we all feel that Brad fit into both of those groups for us. CLC was a strange and wonderful place in that the dorm environment created a second family for all of us, and Brad was truly seen as one of our “Brothers by Choice” and the kind of friend that everyone wanted to have. We were gifted with being in the same dorm with him, but we also all chose to be friends. Over those two years Brad became an important part of our lives, but as so often happens life started to pull us all apart as we entered into new challenges and opportunities. Our contact with Brad and each other became less frequent over the years, and you often fool yourself saying that you will find the time soon to reconnect with old friends. But as is too often the case, we never really realize the brevity and fragility of life until it is too late.
It is now too late for us to see Brad again in person, to tell him how much we missed him over the years, to tell him how much of an impact he had on lives, and to tell him that we were proud to be able to call him a friend. We can’t tell him that anymore, but we can tell you and hope that in some small way it may help you find some comfort in knowing that the man that you loved so much was also loved and respected by all of us.
“Bobby” we will miss you very much.

We are so sorry for your loss. Words cannot express the sorrow we feel. May God guide you through the coming days and weeks. Our prayers are with you!
We wish to offer our deepest condolences to Christine, Connor, Daniel and the rest of the family. We met Brad, Christine and the kids since our kids attended kindergarten together (Oscar and Connor), and always observed what a wonderful dad he was, always dedicated, caring, and loving to his boys. May God give you His strength in these difficult moments, and that His love conforts you all.

I am so sad to hear of Brad’s passing. I worked with Brad at Pepsi – He was a great employee and great guy. He made my life easier with the pride he took in his work and positive attitude. It is no surprise to me that he was loved by all. My prayers go out to your family.

To Brad’s family,
I was shocked to hear of Brad’s passing. I haven’t seen him since University but he made a strong impression on me for as far back as I can remember. He always had a smile and a kind word. I know he will be greatly missed by all.
May God comfort you during this difficult time.
I had the pleasure of working with Brad at Firehall 13. His quick laugh, warm heart and selfless attitude made him a favourite among the 4 shifts. I always had time for Brad, and he for me, as I asked him endless questions about hockey.
It was the rink where I really got to know Brad. He was so good with the kids, they all loved “coach Brad”. It was there I met his family and quickly saw what was important to him. He seemed happiest when he was on the ice with his boys, Connor and Daniel.
My thoughts and prayers go to his family.God Bless you Brad-you’ll be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of you and your families loss! You are in my prayers.

My memories of Brad go as far back as the days when I could only crawl on the floor, with Brad crawling along on one side of me, and Scott on the other and they would feed me Aunty Eileen’s plants (that’s the REAL story, Uncle Marty!!)
Brad and Scott were the closest thing to big brothers I ever had. I could not wait for the times when our parents brought our families together, for these were the only older boys that paid any attention to me, a mere girl. Brad taught me how to do a slapshot in their basement (against Scott in goal of course!) and he taught me how to throw a football. This skill impressed many a boy, leaving them saying, “You don’t throw like a girl!”
I remember Brad being so fair and blond, that he earned the nickname ‘Spook’.
I remember playing SWAT games and hide-and-seek with Brad and Scott on the hill behind our house in Lynnwood and not going in the house for hours and hours and when we finally did, we were filthy.
I remember attending a few of Brad’s hockey games and he would be so nervous before the game that we would all have to wait in the car for Brad to run one more time to the bathroom!
I remember playing card games on the kitchen floor with Brad and his friend Steve.
I remember that Brad had a continually growing hockey card collection, and he kindly would explain to me all of the qualities of the players that he was practicing himself and if I was lucky, he would give me some of his doubles (which of course I treasured!)
I remember Brad telling me gently after washing my hands one time, “Now, when you are done, you have to take the towel like this…and wipe all of the water that you dripped, so that the tap sparkles, like that…” and of course I asked, “Why?” and he replied, “Or else my mom will get really mad and think it was me or Scott that forgot to wipe up!”
I remember when the boys had motorbikes and we rode up and down the alley until the police drove up behind us and followed us back to the house and Brad told me, “Run into the house…” and he and Scott stayed to brave the lecture.
I remember how Brad used to take me with him ‘to the lake’ with his friends and he always would introduce me as his cousin. One day I asked him why he always said that I was his cousin (although I was flattered) and he replied, “Well, you are, because you call my mom and dad ‘aunty and uncle’ and I call your mom and dad ‘aunty and uncle’!
When we grew up a little more and I would see Brad at UofC in the Phys. Ed. building with Christine, I remember thinking what a lucky girl she was. And then when I attended their wedding I remember Brad declaring over a toast, “I am going to spend the rest of my life making this girl happy.”
I remember the times, as adults, when we would visit at Aunty Eileen and Uncle Marty’s house (when my parents were in town) and we could catch up with each other’s lives and families.
And then I remember Brad calling my house to speak to my husband to ask questions about the Calgary Fire Department and how they studied together and how we all rejoiced when Brad graduated into the CFD.
The longer I sit and think about Brad, the more memories flood my mind and soul. He was a friend, he was my brother and with all these memories, he Brad will not be forgotten. But he will be missed.
Love and prayers to all of the family,
Sean, Cindy, Jessica & Ashley
Marty and Eileen, we were very saddened to hear of your loss of your son Bradley. We read the notice in the paper today and through that, got to know a small bit of who he was. He sounds like a wonderful person who clearly had a positve influence with and from the people in his life.

Our sincere sympathy to Eileen and Marty and all of the family. Our daughter Cathy remembers Brad from Junior High Days in Lake Bonavista. Losing a child, no matter what age is very sad. Our prayers are with you.

Dear Coach Brad,
We will miss your smile, laugh and calming influence. Our family only knew you through our mutual love of hockey. Thank-you for volunteering and dedicating your time to be the coach of our boys’ teams over the past couple years. I have gotten to know Daniel and Connor quite well and you have a lot to be proud of in your two boys. You have always had the kids best interests in mind when coaching; always trying to make it the best experience it can be for every teammate, and never putting the interests of a player ahead of the team’s. I promise you that we will do our very best to honor you by stepping up and helping Christine, Connor and Daniel manage through these difficult times and find peace among family and friends.
Marty,
I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your son. I know how important your family is to you and can’t imagine your loss. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Marty,
I was so sorry to hear of your son Brad’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of grief.
I would like to extend our sincerest sympathy to Brad’s family. I was a hockey team-mate of Brad’s while we both attended college in Camrose. Brad was a gifted defenseman and ultimate team player and a great friend of all those in his circle. I felt very fortunate visiting with Brad in 2005 and 2006 after many years of lost contact between us. He spoke glowingly and proudly of his family and was very excited about coaching hockey. Our prayers are with you.
Dear Christine & Family.
We were shocked and saddened to hear of Brad’s sudden passing. We got to know him during our years together at the University of Calgary. He has obviously touched a lot of people in a positive way as he did for us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. He will be sadly missed.
Lori & Randy Graham & Family
Our words are so inadequate to ease the pain of the loss of your precious son Brad. We pray that our Father, the God of all comfort, will pour His infinite comfort upon you and your family and carry you all in His everlasting arms. With deep sympathy and love, Clyde and Patricia(Brenda Blair’s sister), Foley.
Please know that our prayers continue with you as a family in the loss of a very special person, Brad.
We want to be available to you at any time in the days to come; please feel free to call on us.
May God give each one of you what you need to get through the days, weeks and months ahead.
We love you, Wes and Martha
To Christine, Connor, Daniel and the Pasishnek family – we wanted to offer our deepest sympathies to you on the loss of Brad. You can count on us to help in any way possible. It is the least we can do in return for all that Brad has done for us. In honor of Brad, we have written a letter to him, which we wanted to share with you.
Thank you Coach Brad for your hours of commitment and time spent with our children and your own. Thank you Coach Brad for the day you took the time to talk to our son when he needed it most. You told him about your hockey days as a kid. You told him he was a lot like you then. That he didn’t need to score a ton of goals to be a great hockey player. Our son left the rink that day with a beaming smile and his head held high. Thank you Friend Brad for being the voice of calmness, strength and laughter. We were then and are now, so thankful to have had you in our lives. Thank you Friend Brad for your always welcoming smile and gentle kindness. You will always be with us in our hearts. Most of all, thank you Coach Brad for the difference you made in our son’s life.
We are so sorry to hear of Brad’s unfortunate passing and wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Marty and Eileen, Christine & boys, Scott & Andrea and family and Nicole and her family. To many other family and friends closely connected to the Pasishnek Family, we also send our condolences.
Marty and Eileen and Family
We are terribly saddened about the loss of your dear son Brad. As you know, we didn’t get to see him too much, but just in those few times, we knew he was a great person. We thank God for the strength of spirit we know you’ve nurtured that will see you through your time of mourning. We mourn with you and will keep you in our prayers. We will see you on Wednesday.
Eileen and Marty, Glenn and I were so sad and shocked to learn of Brad’s passing.
We cannot fathom the depth of your loss and are praying the Lord will give you and all your family strength during this time and the months to come.
We have such good memories of our visits together and you driving the boys and hockey equipment around in the old brown station wagon.
With love Nancy and Glenn
Christine, Connor, Daniel and the entire Pasishnek Family.

Coach Brad…Thank you

It was with deep sadness that I learned of Brad’s passing. Though I never met Brad personally, I am struck with a tremendous sense of loss for a wonderful man who was no doubt an inspiration to all who knew him. Our deepest sympathy extends to all of you with the tragic loss of Brad. Even though our visits to Calgary were few and far between Brad was always that smiling face when we would meet up for birthdays or at Christmas time at my sister (Andrea) & brother-in-law Scott’s house. We would always catch up and comment on how all the kids had grown since the last time. He would always give that friendly “Pasishnek” hug when leaving. We wish we lived closer to help out in your time of need, but please know that our thoughts and prayers have been with you. May you all hold cherished memories of Brad close to your hearts forever.
Dear Marty and Eileen,
Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of your son Brad. I know how much you worried about him Marty and your loss right now must be unimaginable. Please know that I am thinking about you and your entire family.

It is with profound sadness that I express my deepest condolences to all of Brad’s family and friends.
I was blessed to know Brad during his time in College in Camrose. I served as one of his orientation leaders during his first few weeks of school at the CLC, and then as a member of his dorm when he moved in with us part way through his first year and his entire second year. I will always remember his smile and that silly giggle of a laugh he had. He was a tremendous friend during those years and I often lamented that time and distance eroded our contact over these years. But even though we had not talked or seen each other in what seems a lifetime I never forgot the person that he was and how he could make all of us smile. While words can not express my sadness at your loss or erase one moment of your pain during this time, please know that Brad was loved and respected by those that knew him. My time with Brad was much shorter than I would have liked but his impact on me was real and long lasting. May God grant you peace.

Aunty Eileen, Uncle Marty and family,
We are so saddened and sorry to hear of the passing of Brad. As difficult as it has been for me to come to grips with his passing, I cannot begin to imagine how hard it has been for you and your family. So many wonderful memories flood my heart and mind. I know that he is with God and that he is at peace. My memories of Brad are of a young man with a kind and gentle spirit, one who loved to laugh and whose heart was as big as the universe itself. His children have a wonderful example in Brad of what a truly generous and loving man he was and how they should grow up to be. Though Brad is physically gone he will always live in our hearts and minds because of who he was, the strength of character he had and the integrity he maintained. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, we pray for strength and peace for you through this time of mourning and celebration of Brad’s life.
All our Love,
Neil, Helen and Kate
