Obituary of PASISHNEK – Bradley James

March 14, 1967 – March 17, 2010 Brad Pasishnek, beloved husband of Christine and father of Connor and Daniel, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the age of 43 years. Brad was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan. He lived in Calgary from the time he was three years old and began playing hockey at the age of five. It became a lifelong passion for him, paying for some of his University Education through hockey scholarships. He played one year in the Western Junior Hockey League and at the “ripe old age of forty two”, managed to make it to the “Worlds’ Police and Fire Games” that was held in Vancouver last summer as a member of the Calgary Firefighters’ Hockey Team. It was one of the greatest highlights of his life! He finished University with a degree in Physical Education and went on to have a career with Pepsi for many years. His greatest achievement was becoming a firefighter with the City of Calgary. He was so proud of what he had accomplished. He loved his job and the guys he worked with. Most of all, he will be remembered for his love of people. First and foremost, his wife and his two boys, then his immediate family, and after that anyone else that was part of his world. He especially loved being known as “Coach Brad” as he encouraged young children to feel good about themselves, using the game of hockey as his tool. His kind and compassionate heart endeared him to everyone he knew. He will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched. Besides his loving wife and children, Brad is survived by his parents, Marty and Eileen Pasishnek; brother and sister-in-law Scott and Andrea Pasishnek and their sons William and Grayson; and his sister Nicole Borriello and brother-in-law, Peter Borriello, and her son James. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Bruce and Pauline McAdoo, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Kelly Blain and James Wilson and their sons Jamie and Jordan as well as numerous relatives and friends.
