Obituary of RUDY – Leonard

January 03, 1930 – March 05, 2010 Leonard Rudy passed away on Friday March 05, 2010 at the age of 80 years. Len was born in Montreal and was a civil engineer graduate of McGill. He spent many years in Ottawa building a successful general contracting business with his partner Marvin Flatt. Len then moved to Toronto to join an international development company and was responsible for building some premier buildings in Toronto and New Orleans. In Montreal, Len worked on the IBM Marathon Building, then moved to Calgary where he worked on a Calgary designed school built in Salekard, Siberia and various other projects in Calgary thereafter. He retired in 2002 and continued to excel in his direct metal sculpting, creating pieces that will live as his legacy. Len is survived by his life partner of twenty five years Judy Weldon; his daughters Jessica (Jeff) Brisbois and Jennifer Rudy (John Brisbois); his grandson Ethan Brisbois; his sister Ruth (Itzchak) Rapoport; the mother of his daughters Helene Rudy; and his niece and nephews and their children.
