Obituary of DAVIS – John Edward

June 18, 1931 – January 9, 2010 John Davis beloved husband of Marie of fifty-six years, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the age of 78 years. He was a loving husband and a cherished father. John was born in Woodstock, Ontario. He was a proud member of the United Church of Canada and had a strong faith in God. His greatest passion in life was his ownership of the Didsbury Paper and Publishing, which was John’s lifetime goal with Marie at his side. One of his loves was teaching his grandchildren to fish. John had an outgoing, caring and compassionate disposition. Besides his loving wife, John is survived by his children, Michael (Cathy) Davis, Sam (Wanda) Davis, Christie (Marty) Richardson, and Libby (Fred) Katz. He was affectionately known as “Papa” by his grandchildren, Maeghan, Nathan, Nikolaus, Benjamin, Joshua and Jacob. He was also survived by his sister Helen (Larry) Poste and sister-in-law, Margaret James. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at St. Thomas United Church (100 Hawkwood Boulevard N.W.), on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. You may forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
