Obituary of GILLIS – John Ronald

April 1, 1931 – November 25, 2009 John Gillis, beloved husband of Yvette Gillis of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the age of 78 years. John was born and raised in Calgary. He spent twenty-five years in the Armed Forces. Following his military career, John owned various convenience stores in Calgary and Nanton and then worked a number of years in the security industry. Besides his loving wife of fifty-two years, John is survived by four sons, Steve (Susan), Dave (Norma), Brian (Valerie), Dominic (Samantha); a daughter Michele; and nine grandchildren, Amanda, Katie, Jessica, Eric, Ryan, Raylene, Francis, Angela, Krista, and Meagan. He is also survived by a brother Ted (Carol); sister Glenda (Paul) and their families.
