Obituary of KLAVER – Louis

May 26, 1956 – November 11, 2009 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lou, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Lou slipped away at home early Wednesday morning, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lou is survived by his loving wife Celia, stepsons Leon (Lana and grandson Quentin) and Noel; sister Mary Blom (Ed); brother Jake (Mary), and sister Angie Neal (Doug). He is predeceased by his parents Jacob and Alida, and his brother John. Lou was born and raised in Calgary. After graduating with an Engineering degree from the University of Calgary, Lou became an esteemed part of Calgary’s oil and gas industry. An active member of APEGGA, he was a mentor to many engineers who admired his professionalism and integrity. In 1980, Lou met Celia, the love of his life. Along with her two sons – and various dogs, birds, and lizards – Lou and Celia formed a family with strong religious and ethical values.
