Obituary of McKEE – Pearcyville James

January 12, 1919 – November 8, 2009 Percy McKee, beloved husband of Enid McKee of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Percy was born on January 12, 1919 on the family homestead at Drumheller, AB. He, his parents Minnie and Robert, four sisters and older brother, weathered the hardships with close family support during the 20’s and 30’s. He married his sweetheart Enid in 1939, and began their family. In 1941 Percy, his brother Les, and brothers-in-law Eurwedd and Bill volunteered for WWII Military service. Percy made Master Sergeant in the 1st Armament Division Troops and was part of the British Expeditionary Force from the Normandy Operation Overlord through Coursells (FR), Holland, to Aurich (GR). Discharged in October 1945, he began his career with the Alberta Department of Highways. Percy was promoted to Superintendent of Highway Shops in Calgary, Edmonton and Airdrie. After retirement, he continued to enjoy his large extended family, church family and many dear friends. Percy lived a full life. He passed away after a brief illness. His last days were blessed by generous visits from family and friends. Thank You Dear Dad. Love your children Colleen and Jack.
