Condolences
Dear Doris and family,
We’ve just now learned of Eric’s passing. Eric was a wonderful and memorable person. He had an inquiring mind which guaranteed interesting conversations, often punctuated by one of the many jokes he told. We remember his (and your) many kindnesses. Our sympathetic thoughts are with you.
Sincerely,
Nola and Tom Stuckert

It is with great sadness that the Hickey family wishes to extend our deepest sympathies regarding the passing of Eric.
He was always such a joy to be around. His positive and light hearted attitude was truly an asset to everyone around him.
Eric will be dearly missed but we are certain that his optimistic nature will live on in those closest to him.
We are glad to have known such a fabulous person.
Dear Doris and family:
My sincere condolences on the passing of a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Doris, from our days in the Remedial Reading/L.A. Clinic course and when you worked with Jean DeBruyn in CBE, I remember meeting Eric on several occasions at social functions and the lovely conversations I had with him –even the one about you and he running a mink farm at one time!! May the family cherish all the wonderful memories of him as he rests in peace.
Sincerely, chris gordon

I met him in 1981 when the High School Resource Teachers were out in place and both Eric and I held thosepositions. the group met regularly and i remember his cheeriness and love of a good joke While I lived in Calgary (until 2001, I would at times run into him and again he was always smiling and we shared a laugh. Through Barb Kohn, I learned that Eric was unwell and am sad to hear of his passing.

Dear Doris and Family,
We were saddened to read that Eric has passed away. We remember him for his up-beat personality and his ability to tell a good joke! You’ll all miss him but you must have some wonderful memories to comfort you.
Doris, I do not have your new address so this must do instead of a card, and I hope to make it to the service next week.
Sincerely,
Carol and Harold
Our condolences to Doris and family.
Having worked with Eric over the years, and as his neighbor on Charleswood Drive for many years as well, I have fond remembrances of Eric.
As a person, Eric was gentle, kind, caring and full of fun. I would often run into Eric at the Brentwood Coop, always to be regaled with a story or two and a mischievous smile.
As an educator, Eric retained his sense of humor, never taking himself too seriously, but always having the students’ best interests at heart. He was organized, meticulous in his planning and caring in the way he dealt with his students. Putdowns were never his way; kindness and sincerity were his stock in trade. Eric will be remembered fondly.
Sincere regards, Sharon and Jerry Braun.
Doris, please accept our deepest condolences on your loss. We remember many happy games of bridge with you and Eric and his incredible sense of humour, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
I wish to express my sincere condolences to the Eric Friesen family. I taught with Eric at Lord Beaverbrook High School during the late 60’s and early 70’s. Eric was a true gentleman.
Sincerely,

I recognized Mr. Friesen’s picture right away as he taught me in high school @ Lord Beaverbrook 32 years ago. I would like to say that he always struck me as a gentle man and I recall his kind nature. I am so sorry for your loss. Cyndra Townley
