Dear Mrs. Martin, Janet, Karen and Sheila:

We were all very sorry to hear about Mr. Martin passing away. We saw the obit and everyone thought it was very nice especially that there are so mnay grandchildren and great-grandchildren to remember him by. My father wanted to send the following prayer:

O Lord, support us all the day long until the shades lengthen and evening comes,

and the busy world is hushed

and the fever of life is over,

and our work is done.

Then Lord, in thy mercy, grant us a safe lodging, a holy rest, and peace at the last.

Jack was the happiest man I have ever met in my life. He and you, Lillian never failed to make me feel warm, and welcome in your home in Dollard des Ormeaux. I know my mom and dad really loved the two of you a lot, and mom never failed to tell me ‘all the news’ whenever she got a letter from you.

The world is a little bit chillier with his passing. I am proud to have known him.
