Obituary of HISCOX – Thomas Bertie

July 28, 1917 – October 27, 2009 Thomas Bertie Hiscox passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the ripe old age of 92. Tom served with the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII. He owned and operated Hiscox West End Garage, established by his father in 1913, before retiring in 1976. Tom and Margaret enjoyed their winters in Yuma, Arizona and especially loved ballroom dancing. Tom was known for his kindness and unique sense of humour. There was nothing he couldn’t invent, build, make or fix. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. Tom is survived by his adored and adoring wife of sixty-eight years, Margaret; son and daughter-in-law Rick and Mimi; daughter and son-in-law Sue and Larry; five grandchildren, Nori, Carly, Rayna, Kristjan and Afton; and five great-grandchildren. He was admired and treasured by us all. A TOAST TO TOM will be held at Staywell Manor (174 Ypres Green S.W.) on Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Tel: 760-533-1766). No flowers please.
