Obituary of Fox – Shirley

October 8, 1962 – October 19, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic loss of our beloved sister and auntie, Shirley Fox born on October 8, 1962 and passed away on October 19, 2009. Shirley was a caring person who offered help to those who were less fortunate than her. She worked for many years at Alpha House and with those who lived on the streets to try and help them. She was a hard worker and loved her family very much. Shirley is survived by her brothers Roy Fox, Thomas (Bertina) Vogtmann, Michael Vogtmann, Michael Fox, Vincent (Vicki) Yellow Old Woman and Edward Yellow Old Woman Jr. Shirley is also survived by her Uncles Simon Prairie Chicken, Charlie Many Fires, and Delbert Many Fires and Aunt Phyllis Many Fires, special niece Robin Fox and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by many extended relatives in the Fox, Many Fires, Prairie Chicken, Yellow Old Woman, Young Man, Red Old Man, Leather, Sleigh, and Weasel Head families. Shirley was also part of the Eagle Rib clan. We apologize for anyone we may have missed. Shirley was predeceased by her Mother, Yvonne Fox, Father, Edward Yellow Old Woman, brother Roger Fox, her maternal grandparents, Steven Many Fires and Josephine Prairie Chicken , and her paternal grandparents, Vincent and Amelia (Deerfoot) Yellow Old Woman. Wake Services will be held at The Gordon Yellow Memorial Arbour (Siksika Nation, AB) on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. John The Devine Anglican Church (Siksika Nation, AB) on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Canon Stockton Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB).
