Although I only met Marthajane once I was cheered by her gallant and open attitude to her problems and new treatments. It was pass forward help that I was able to do from that day in the mall. You had an astonishing daughter, Pat, with wise and intelligent parents that passed their strengths on to their children.

My mom, Midge Jones, asked me to let you know just how sorry she was to hear of Marthajane’s passing. She wishes she was here to offer her support, but wants you to know that you are all in her thoughts and that she will be in touch when she returns home.

I can’t believe that Marthajane is really gone. She was such a bright, witty, wonderful woman and steadfast friend. How like her to give back even in death and I feel she is in a far, far better place now than she has been for the last five months: no more anxiety, fear, pain or uncertainty. It eases my heart to know she is with those who loved her – Jim and her beloved Hamish, Ghillie and Chatters. May she rest in peace.
