Obituary of SHADDOCK – Norman

January 24, 1920 – August 22, 2009 Norman, beloved husband of the late Joan Shaddock of Calgary, passed away on August 22, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Norman was born in Belleville, ON, son of Benjamin and Margaret Shaddock (nee Soule). Norman joined the Canadian Armed Forces at the age of 18 years and met his wife Joan in England during WW II. He moved his family to Calgary in 1945 where he was employed with Chevron Standard for over 35 years. Norman was an avid sportsman and conservationist. He was past President of Calgary Fish and Game Association and past Vice-President of the Alberta Fish and Game Association. He is remembered by daughters Margaret (Bradley) Block, Valerie (Ron) Bons and son Ron (Peggy) Shaddock; grandchildren Bill and Trevor Block, Scott, Michael, and Jamie Shaddock, and Ronald and Sean Bons. Norman is survived by brothers Jack and Bruce Shaddock of Ontario and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Joan, brother Lou and sister Margaret DeMille. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
