Bryan and and I were very fond of Jack. His friendship with our mother brought joy and kindness to her life and great warmth to us. Jack’s ‘joie de vivre’ and his love of his family and friends was always evident. We are saddened by his death and thinking of you all. God bless,

With loving memory of my Uncle Jack and deep sympathy for his family.

I was sorry I was unable to get to Jack’s funeral. Jack was one of the first people I met when I joined Good Companions 50 Plus Club where we both belonged to the Community Kitchen Program. We had so much fun in that program. Jack was teased a lot about his attempts to cook, but he took it all in good part and gave as good as he got. He was such a friendly good-humoured man and so considerate and helpful to other people. He instantly responded if anyone needed help or the Club needed a volunteer. He was missed when he was no longer able to come along and many of us have tried to keep up with how he was doing. We were all sorry to hear of his passing. He lived a full and interesting life but it is always sad when the end finally comes. I hope his passing was a quiet and peaceful transition.
