Obituary of LORD – Jean

September 25, 1929 – August 6, 2009 Jean Lord, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the age of 79 years. Born in Elnora, AB, Jean then moved to Calgary where she operated Banff Trail Nursery in both Calgary and Airdrie, before retiring to Calgary. She enjoyed travel, especially traveling back to her parents’ birth place in Scotland, curling and singing in her church choir. Jean was active with Airdrie Lions Club. Jean is survived by her brother Jim and his wife Helen Paton; sister Margaret Paton of Victoria; numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her first husband Stan Nelson; her second husband Ted Lord; three sisters; Helen Dodds, Mary Richardson and Christine Drage; two brothers, John and Andrew Paton. We would like to thank the staff at the Foothills Hospital Unit 91 and to the staff at the Chinook Hospice for their excellent care giving to Jean.
