Obituary of GREEN – David John Charles

August 15, 1951 – August 3, 2009 Dave beloved husband of Thelma of Calgary, passed away on August 3, 2009 at the age of 57 years. Dave was born on August 15, 1951 in Liverpool, England, he graduated from Maghull Grammar School & started his career with British Telecom. He met Thelma in 1969 and they were married in April of 1973. They then immigrated to Canada in 1975 to work for AGT in Edmonton and lived in Sherwood Park for 20 years. He was an active member of Ivanhoe Lodge #142 for many years. In 1995 Dave and Thelma relocated to Calgary, with Telus, where he worked until retiring in May, 2007. His life revolved around golf and he was a member of the Country Hills Golf Club – his buddies there will miss him. Dave was a loyal friend and brought joy to everyone he knew with his humorous personality. Dave’s gourmet dinners were relished by many friends & family. Dave is survived by his devoted wife Thelma, sister Val (Gerry), nephews Chris, Sean & Kevin; niece Yvonne, his dearest cousin Gary (Susan) and other family members in Canada & England. He was predeceased by parents Peg & Doug & in-laws Lil, Bill & Pam. A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation prior to the Celebration of Life from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
