Obituary of NORMAN – Garry Raymond

November 13, 1962 – August 2, 2009 Garry Raymond Norman of Calgary passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, AB, on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the age of 46 years. Garry was born on November 13, 1962 in Toronto, ON. Garry was the entertainer. Garry’s passion was to sing, dance and act. He lit up a room when he walked in with his smile, laughter and an uncanny ability for comic impressions to bring smiles to everyone who had the pleasure of Garry’s company. Garry was a historian, with an amazing memory for political, sports and music trivia. An entrepreneur at heart, Garry’s magnetic personality and dedicated work ethic contributed to the success of a Victoria, BC based commercial lease finance business called Admiralty Leasing. Garry put his heart and soul into this company for fifteen years. Garry’s other passions were the thirst for adventure, traveling the world and playing goal tender for the Admirals hockey team. Some of Garry’s favorite destinations included England and the Caribbean. Garry dearly loved his two young children and they will have the pleasure of Garry’s memory through the many wonderful stories, life gifts and contributions that Garry has inspired. Garry always had incredible strength and a zest for life and valiantly battled an immune comprised condition for six years. Garry’s death is sadly mourned by his wife Carrie; children, William and Danielle; mother Phyllis; brothers, Kevin (Lourine), Glenn (Michelle); sister Roma Mollins (Tim), their respective families; and in-laws Ott and Doris Zelko who did so much for Garry. Garry’s sharp wit, great smile and gentle soul will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. We take solace in the fact that he joins those he admired and respected, father Ray, Uncle Don, beautiful niece Rhea and dear cousin Martin Staples. A private family celebration of his life will be held in Calgary.
