Condolences
Dear Frances, Louise and Delores: I am very sorry to hear of the death of your mother. Although I met her only a few times, she made quite an impression on me, as I’m sure she did on everyone. She was such a lovely person — so kind, so cheerful, and so full of the joy of living. With sincere sympathy – Leslie
I am so saddened to learn of Virginia’s death. She was one of my very special friends whose company I so enjoyed on our many Skyline hikes together and on our hiking vacations together at Lake O’Hara, and my visits to Harvey Heights. She taught me so much about how life ought to be lived…how to use bits of cotton balls between the toes to stop blisters developing on our long hikes.
She taught me how to take flower pictures properly by practically lying down on our abdomens on mountain trails to be sure to get the correct angle for a good shot. Her pictures were outstanding.
She was always highly principled and never held back from speaking out when she felt something needed to be improved.
She had a great sense of humour and was so much fun to be with. I shall miss her terribly. The world is a lesser place with Virginia gone.
My love and support to her family…
Ruth Elliott
